Charity Policy 

We raised 244,964 baht during 2011which, as decided at last year’s AGM, has been donated to Bright Dawn Charity Foundation.  

We have requested specifically that this money is used to fund their computer literacy project at Huay Sai Ngam School.  

This project involves upgrading the present computer classroom and installing 9 new computers. This special learning center will be designed to teach the children basic computer skills and give them access to the internet and Thai language distance learning programs relevant to the subjects they study at school.  

We need to decide by vote the charity foundation(s) that will receive any charity monies raised by us during 2012.  The Committee recommend that we continue to support Bright Dawn, but if any members have other organisations that they would like to see benefit - please let us know. Any organisation recommended must be a legally registered charity foundation in Thailand. 

Poposed Change to the Constitution 

To add an Appendix to the constitution to be headed Appendix III, with the following wording: 

“Notwithstanding the provisions of ARTICLE IV, Berny Morgan shall be the Captain for life or for as long as he chooses to continue in the position.” 

Rationale: 

Berny is a founder of the Society and has since dedicated most of his time to the running of it.  It seems unnecessary to re-elect him every two years.  The committee is recommending that the members vote for this proposed change to the constitution.
