Hua Hin Golf Society Charity
CHARITY WORK
Charity Day 18th December 2007: Golf at Lake View and a Gala Dinner at the Dusit Resort Hua Hin was a huge success, due to all of you that participated in either or both of these events. Both events were well supported we thank you for that. The total of money raised for the Charity was 436,000 baht, absolutely marvelous. Thank you to all the sponsors that donated prizes for our days golf, Dinner Ticket draw and the Raffle Ticket draw. Thank you also to the many people that purchased Raffle Tickets on the Gala Dinner Evening.
Projects under way for 2008.
Bann Pu Wai School
New toilet nearer to the small children classrooms, Floor Covering, plastic chairs and cabinets for 2 rooms for the small children, Mosquito netting for windows.
Nong Keun School
4 Computers, Ceiling Fans, Mosquito netting for windows (Library), Refurbish old toilet, Additional cooking gas container & Food cabinet, + Cooking Utensils.
Nong Kor Kai School
Library. Needs ceiling repaired, plus plastic chairs, 2 computers, Room for small children, Air bricks required plus Mosquito nets, 4 standing fans, cabinet, plastic chairs plus repair to the roof. Clinic / Medicine room / Office, The Army have supplied (built) a building, but it needs completing. Ie. Windows to add, ceiling to be added, Partitioning etc. Bed, Plus medicine cabinet etc.
An 18,000 baht Donation has been given to the Mercy House for orphaned Children as requested by Roy and Angie, the money was raised from their golf club in England, Painswick Golf Club (Ladies Section) thank you to them.
We welcome donations to the Hua Hin Golf Society Charity Fund all year round, but our main fund raising project happens just before Christmas each year. Last Christmas was our nineth year. A golf tournament was played during the day and a Gala Dinner was held in the evening. We asked local businesses for their support to supply gifts for prizes and for the evenings raffle.
Past projects which we have funded from the Charity Fund include: A special needs school in Petchaburi which we supported for three years buying equipment for their use. Walai School, Nong Plub, Hua Hin, We supplied mosquito netting, ceiling fans, plastic mats and a megaphone, we also built a toilet block for the kindergarten children. On another occasion we supplied TV’s for the classrooms plus a computer with printer. Kaopitak School, Hua Hin. We supplied a water tank to their building so as they did not have to purchase water for the children to wash with and use in the toilets. Bangwangboad School, (Pala U Road, Hua Hin. We supplied insect screens, fans, floor covering, redecorated classrooms and we also subsidized them each month for a year for additional food at lunchtimes. We also gave them funds in order that they could build a “canteen”. Tsunami Disaster. We funded to the amount of 150,000 Baht towards the rebuilding of school buildings in the Phuket area. La Moh School. We supplied a tiled floor, new wall tiles and toilets, cabinets, fans and uniforms for the 86 students. Our most recent projects are an orphanage in Pranburi, Mercy House, Khao Noi, Pranburi. We have given financial support to the tune of 370,000 baht to build an outbuilding which is to be used in training their children for bakery, handicraft, hi-fi, sewing skills and computer skills etc, this is now complete. A single parent, who unfortunately lost her fight against cancer on 21st February 2007 and hadn't been able to work since November 2006, had 3 school age children to support, we donated 4 x 5000 baht towards her expenses. Another project is a school near to Hua Hin, Bangkokchaing Pattana, this is a small school opened in 1979 and has little or no support from the government, they required a toilet block for their children, this work is also complete now.
Projects for 2007
Baan Nong Kam School: We have supplied funds for a toilet block, furnished a nursing room, supplied ceiling fans and also supplied some computer equipment.
Toohgkhan School: We have supplied funds for a toilet block, supplied mosquito netting, supplied a water tank, shelves for books, supplied ceiling fans and also supplied some computer equipment.
Baan Pong Yai School: We supplied funds for a toilet block, supplied ceiling fans and also supplied mosquito netting.
Pu-Wai School: We have supplied funds for ceiling fans.
Walai School: We have supplied funds for a water tank.
Petchaburi Adult Mental Home: We have purchased clothing, sanitary wear, underwear, shoes (flip flops or the like) storage cases etc.
