Following the success of our social evening at Prime Steakhouse earlier this year, we have booked an evening with Mario at Pizza Garden on Soi 94 from 6pm till 8pm.
Mario has given us a special price of 700 Baht per person, which includes 3 types of pasta, 3 different types of Pizza and free flow wine and beer. If you do not want wine or beer, the price will be 500 Baht, but you have to pay for your own drinks.
You don’t have to play to join us, but the presentation for the day’s strokeplay at Lake View will be held on the evening.
Guests will be welcome, and in order to help Mario with the numbers, please let us know by e-mail to email@example.com, and let us know how many people are coming. We can allow a maximum of 36 people, for social distancing.
At present, golf courses are open subject to strict conditions. One of these conditions is that no competitions are held until further notice, although some restrictions are easing.
In order to comply, Hua Hin Golf Society will hold meetings but will not run competitions until we are given permission by the individual courses. If we do not get permission, then we will not collect match fees, and will not give out prizes. If permission is granted, then we will hold a competition, and try to announce it on the sign up sheet. Unfortunately, this will affect the social aspect of our society, as restaurants and bars at the golf courses will only be partly open. Tee times for each meeting can be booked in the normal fashion, which are then relayed to the golf courses as necessary.
We will run summer eclectics and Stableford order of merit, and so we will request that your scorecards be correctly marked, signed and then handed in to a committee member after your round. These scores will appear on the Master Scoreboard results, but will also be used to calculate eclectics and order of merit. Scorecards will also be used to adjust handicaps up or down.
This situation can change very quickly, and we will try to keep everyone informed of any changes.
Corona Virus is obviously a major talking point and concern to all of us and
we, the committee of HHGS are no exception to this.
have recently been discussing what position HHGS should take on the concerns
regarding “separation” and “public gatherings” and have reached, by majority
opinion, a decision that the society should continue with planned
schedules in order to provide members who do want to play the opportunity
to do this.
Bernie acknowledges that because of age he is in the so called “target” group and I, because of the recent arrival of my own little miracle- Patrick – have both decided we will not play but, obviously, we both continue to give 100% support to the Society. No one really knows what will happen in the future – courses open or closed – but we, the committee as a whole, simply implore our members to follow their own minds, take care, and enjoy this great great game
Tim (Chairman HHGS)
All courses around Hua Hin are now closed and all future competitions are cancelled until further notice. We will let you know through this page, Facebook or Master Scorebord when our next competition will be.
Be safe out there, and we, the committee, hope to see you all again on the golf course.
Congratulations to Nekky, who had a hole in one on the par 3 5th hole at Royal Hua Hin on Tuesday 4th February. She is pictured here receiving a golf bag, certificate and shirt from Doctor Pramote Petchasart, of Royal Hua Hin golf club.
Luckily the restaurant had a 2 for one beer promotion, so everyone could celebrate with Necky.
The annual Hua Hin Golf Society Stroke Play Championship was held at Majestic Creek over two days, Friday 6th December and Tuesday 10th December. In spite of high winds on Friday, some reasonable scores were returned.
