Effective 01-November-2018

Penalties based on timing of gaps between groups

https://www.huahingolfsociety.com/latest-news

1) Where a 4 ball group finishes 15 minutes or more behind another 4 ball group in front each member of that 4 ball will be subject to a one shot penalty being added to their round if stroke play/medal or by deduction of 1 stableford point if stableford format is being played

2) Where a 4 ball group finishes 25 minutes or more behind another 4 ball group in front each member of that 4 ball will be subject to a two shot penalty being added to their round if stroke play/medal or by deduction of 2 stableford point if stableford format is being played

3) Where a 4 ball group finishes 25 minutes or more behind a 3 ball group in front each member of the 4 ball will be subject to a one shot penalty being added to their round if stroke play/medal or by deduction of 1 stableford point if stableford format is being played

Committee members present at any event will take into account special circumstances that may apply on the day.

Its VERY important that each group immediately, on finishing, returns the score cards of the group to the committee members present so that timings can be assessed by the committee members involved – DO NOT “go to the car” or “go to the shower” before the cards are handed in.

REMINDER

1) KEEP UP – It is the individual group’s responsibility to keep pace with the group in front – NOT only stay ahead of the group behind.

2) PICK UP – Stabelford – our most common format – if you cannot score on a hole PICK UP.

3) BE READY –  Get to your ball and assess the club and the stroke to be played next and prepare for that BEFORE it is your turn to play.

  1. A 3 ball playing behind a 4 ball should also accept that the pace of play will be a bit slower and hitting into the group in front is not acceptable. On Friday 15th HHGS Day a ball came into our group at head height one player ducked and another jumped out of the way before it hit a buggy and ended up behind a tree – I would have kicked it behind the tree but the ball was travelling too fast. No shout of fore, apology or acknowledgement on the golf course or in the club house. I thought we are meant to be a friendly golf Society
